The more I use AI, the more I realize how important it is to be precise with my words. This is especially important to me in the world of web design, where AI can get me 80% of the way there, but the last 20% still needs fine-tuning. And that fine-tuning depends on being super clear about what I want.
So I enjoyed this list of design language definitions. For instance: do you know the difference between kerning and tracking?
Kerning - The space between two specific characters, adjusted manually. Different from tracking, which affects all characters equally.
Tracking - Letter-spacing applied uniformly across a word or block of text. Uppercase labels almost always need more of it.
I've been using them interchangeably, and never really considered the difference. It's never been more important to think and write clearly.
