Hey friend,
Let’s jump into the 5 things you need to know…
#1 New Effect for Collection Carousel

I’ve added a “coverflow” effect to the Collection Carousel plugin, which highlights the centered item. You can mix and match this with a few other settings, like autoplay to create this cool carousel to display products or blogs. Many people have asked for something similar to this, and it’s now built-in as a preset you can use. Available now to all current plugin owners!
#2 - Ghibilify Everything

Monet, Emmet, and Eleanor, gibilified. iykyk.
ChatGPT’s image generation has become next-level. If you’ve been on social media recently, you’ve probably seen the images in the style of Studio Ghibli, a Japanese animation company. All you need to do is upload an image and ask it to recreate the image in any style you want. For example, here’s an original photo of my dog Vivi, and here she is in Ghibli Studio style, The Simpsons style, and The Matrix style. Each created in about 60seconds.

#3 - Anchor Links + Custom Code

Anchor Links are now in Squarespace. I’ve created a quick article & video about how to use them, and some best practices for using them with custom code. They can be used to target specific page sections without the [data-section-id] and you can use them to create reusable customized sections, but there’s a catch...

#4 - Morgenmuffel

Are you a morning person or a morgenmuffle? I stumbled across this word the other day and I identify so deeply with it, I feel compelled to share it.
"Morgenmuffel" is a German word that translates to "morning grouch" or "person who doesn't like mornings," describing someone who is grumpy and unmotivated in the morning.
If that’s you—or someone you love—you’re not alone. There’s a whole word for it.
(Oh, btw, I asked ChatGPT to create the above image with the following prompt: Create me an image of the word "Morgenmuffel" in the dictionary.)
#5 Newsletter Longevity, Community Building, and Independent Journalism with Lex Roman
Apple | Spotify | Everywhere Else

In this episode, Christy and I get to chatting about the pros and cons of social media for our business and how we manage our social media usage. Our special guest this episode is Lex Roman, who talks about their journey working in TV (for “The Office”) to web design, to growth and monetization, and now community building and virtual networking events. Lex discusses their “Legends” membership as well as their "Journalists Pay Themselves" newsletter for independent media professionals.
