Hey friend,
Let’s get into 5 new things you should know about.
#1 Squarespace News & Updates

Squarespace recently updated its pricing and introduced new tiers to the Squarespace Circle Community (the topic of our latest podcast below). These changes have sparked a lot of discussion, but—perhaps surprisingly, given I run a Squarespace-focused business—I feel fairly ambivalent. To be fair, my work doesn't involve building or selling websites, so I'm relatively unaffected. Still, here are my initial thoughts:
Re: Pricing - Price increases are never fun, but these seem mild—especially since they're simplifying plans (goodbye, add-ons) and not forcing the change on existing subscriptions.
Re: Circle Tiers - The new Circle benefit tiers might be more prone to criticism, but I'm generally positive about them. With the Circle program surpassing 100,000 users, it makes sense to segment members for clearer communication and benefits. That said, I'm still trying to fully grasp the points system for the tiers, and I'm not a huge fan of gamification—so I get the concerns. But I do feel compelled to say: the Circle team is on our side. The program has improved significantly over the last five years, especially in communication and responsiveness, and they actively listen to feedback.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on all of this, if you're open to sharing!
#2 - Coding for Charity Day

We’re trying something new and inviting you to send us your coding questions and customization requests—while supporting a great cause!
This Thursday (tomorrow), we’re doing a"Coding for Charity” day, benefiting the Southampton Beaver Scout group, where Abi (our Senior Support Lead at Will-Myers) volunteers. Beaver Scouts help kids build confidence, leadership, and outdoor skills through fun adventures, and we're excited to support them by helping you and your websites.
Here’s how it works: Submit your coding questions or customization requests in advance, and our team will answer as many as possible on Thursday. In exchange, we simply ask that you consider donating to Abi’s local Beaver Scout group. It's a great way to invest in your website and a wonderful community cause.
#3 New AI Models

Several new AI models dropped recently, and they're all solid. Claude remains my go-to for coding—super helpful for anything I'm building. ChatGPT 4.5* was released last week and it doesn’t break any benchmarks but it does produce much more ~ vibey ~ responses, same with Grok 3. They’re both much more akin to chatting with a human, not a just an advanced AI system. It's actually kinda fascinating to see distinctive personalities emerging from each model.
*ChatGPT 4.5 is on the stupid expensive plan of $200 / mo — it hasn’t reach my recommendation status, but getting closer.
#4 - Resources from some Squarespace Peeps

Here are 3 great new resources from the Squarespace community that I wanted to share, none are affiliate links, I just like them.
The Web Designer Playbook - my good good friend and podcast co-host Christy Price has created a course, The Web Designer Playbook. She’s taken me behind the scenes on some of it and it’s a really thoughtful course about her web design process and the practical reality of running a web design business. If you’re in the market for setting up or honing your process, be sure to check it out.
Custom Codey - Becca from InsideTheSquare released a customized chatGPT specifically for Squarespace designers and developers. It has all sorts of unique, Squarespace-specific information baked into it. And at a one-time $30 price, it’s an absolute steal.
Web Designers Summit - Liz did her second annual FREE Web Designers Summit this year with a whole host of amazing Squarespacer’s. I love seeing the Squarespace community come together and create their own live events like this—it’s things like this that make the Squarespace community really special. The event was last week, but catch the recording here.
