Hey friend,
Let’s get into 5 new things you should know about.
#1 New Plugin - Collection Carousel

Think of this plugin as an advanced Summary Block. It can pull in the content from a Blog, Product, Portfolio, or Event Collection and display the content in a beautiful way. Some of the additional features are infinite loop, autoplay, and free sliding, with many more customizations on the installation page.
This is a (major) update to my Overflow Carousel plugin, so if you’ve purchased that in the past, you get this free — just go to the installation page.
#2 - text-wrap: balance;

On Tuesday, I created a video about this new CSS property and in the last 2 days it’s become my best performing social post. I’ve shared it on all the platforms, so take a watch on Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, or YouTube Shorts. As a quick aside, the social media landscape is changing rapidly, so I’m testing content on all the socials.
#3 New Gear - iPhone Camera Mount

I bought this little thing a couple weeks ago, and I’m using it daily, so that means it’s worth sharing. If you’re in the Apple ecosystem, you can use your iPhone (12 and newer) as a much-higher-quality webcam. This tool easily allows you to mount it to your MacBook. Great for recording a video or for that important zoom meeting. And for only $26, I highly recommend for the Apple users out there. Not an affiliate link, find on Amazon.
#4 State of Web Design Industry Report

Squarespace has released their annual State of Web Design Industry Report. I care mostly about year-over-year trends, so these are the data points that stood out to me:
“Ecommerce site setup has grown over the past year, increasing from 32% to 38%.” (p. 7)
“Circle members have experienced impressive financial growth, with over 20% saying they make over six figures (USD gross)—up from 11% last year.” (p. 8)
“75% use AI on client projects. The use of artificial intelligence (AI) is on the rise— up 17% since last year.” (p. 20)
#5 Algorithms, AI, and Adaptation with Becca Harpain
Apple | Spotify | Everywhere Else

Christy and I had a conversation with our friend Becca Harpain. Becca ran into a pretty difficult situation last year when Google suddenly de-indexed her blog. In this episode, she shares with us the story about what happen, how she’s adjusted since, her approach to AI, and some of the cool new stuff to come (hint: Custom Codey). Listen In!
