Hey friend,
It’s been a super busy few weeks over here. In addition to some new tutorials and a few more code snippets in the Code Catalogue (check ‘em out below), I had the pleasure of attending and speaking at The Website Designer Summit last week. Big shout-out to Liz Ellery for putting together such a great event.
There were so many great takeaways from all the speakers, but for me, the best part of the day was just getting to interact with everyone in real-time and being in a space with other Squarespacers. Remote working, with all of it’s benefits, doesn’t always fill up my People Cup, but this event definitely did. I left me feeling incredibly satisfied and grateful to be part of such a cool community of cool people building cool things on the internet. If you missed it, you can catch the replay here. (I did a whole thing on coding with a lot of Harry Potter references)
And as much as I enjoyed being part of this event, I have to admit that I am thoroughly freaked out by public speaking, even the virtual kind. Presentations turns me into a puddle of anxiety, and this was no exception — I was a mess last week.
Luckily, Ren and I are still doing the digital nomad thing, and we’re currently living in a cabin in the middle of the woods in north Georgia… my friends, the atmosphere here is good. The peace and quiet and uninterrupted time in nature were exactly what my frayed nerves needed last week. It’s the kind of place where you’re surrounded by inspiration and positivity, and the scenery outside is not to be outdone by the cabin wall decor...
And with that, I’d like to present a photo series I’m calling Decorative Signage from a Cabin in the Woods, in the hopes that it will also bring you some inspiration (and a laugh).
Keep Building,
Will
