Hey friend,
Tuesday morning I woke up to torrential rain and about 6 inches of water in the basement of our home in Atlanta. Now, a flooded basement is never a good thing, but since we’ve been renting our house out while we travel around, and are only here for a few weeks between renters, basically everything we own is currently stored in that flooded basement. Thankfully we sprang for the heavy-duty plastic containers (Ren’s idea) and didn’t just leave everything in cardboard boxes (my idea), but even so, my productivity for the day was, quite literally, washed away…
Alas, rain or shine, there are websites to be built and plugins to be launched, and so I bring you my latest addition to the Code Catalogue (my resource bank for Code Curious members), the Floating CTA!
This plugin lets you add a Call To Action button in the shape of your choice that will float (much like all of our worldly possessions were on Tuesday) in a specific position on your page, even as you scroll. Just for fun I added in some dynamic movement, like how the circle here turns as you scroll up and down the page. I even added a little Curious Corner video (for members) that shows you how to build something like this from scratch.
This is a fun little code snippet and a nice way to create some engagement around your call to action, while keeping it front and center for users no matter where they are in your site.
