Hey friend,
Let’s hit the main thing right up front. Black Friday Sale. 25% off all plugins, including business licenses, and 50% off the first month of the Code Curious membership (my top resources for pro Squarespace designers). Use these respective discount codes:
Now, onto the thing that’s top of mind. My top 10 list of food I’m most excited to eat over Thanksgiving.
Stuffing - my favorite kind of soggy bread.
Rolls - Rolls are better than biscuits. This is a hill I am willing to die on.
Rice Casserole - It’s 4 simple ingredients, but it’s what we all fight over every year. Rice, butter, cream of onion soup mix, beef broth. It’s better than just the ingredients sounds.
Sweet potato casserole with toasted marshmallows, (no nuts, I’m not a big nuts-in-my-food guy), and more marshmallows.
Green Stuff - aka the “Southern Fruit Salad” - this is actually just green jello with MORE marshmallows, minuscule pieces of fruit, and topped with whip cream. In the South, this qualifies as a “salad” because it is green.
Mac n Cheese - I take my Mac-n-Cheese very, very seriously. I prefer a good penne pasta mixed with a few eggs, assorted grated cheeses (one must be gruyere) and some milk mixed in. Then you load it up with a bunch of cheddar and mozzarella cheese on top and bake it at like 350 for about an hour. I could live off this for days.
Country Captain - this is a grandma-favorite in my family. It’s a casserole baked with chicken, diced tomatoes and a lot of other unidentifiable stuff… I find it’s better not to ask too many questions. It’s not as heavy as other Thanksgiving dishes, which I can appreciated after all the Mac-n-cheese I eat.
Turkey - doesn’t need to be fancy, but never deep fried.
Now, you’re probably thinking one of two things. #1 this man is probably going to die well before his time from clogged arteries. #2 what does this have to do with websites… Squarespace… coding? Nothing!
To my American friends, Happy Thanksgiving, and to the rest of you, I hope you eat well (and maybe a littler healthier) this week anyways. I’m thankful for this fun little online community.
Keep Building,
Will
