Do you struggle with scope creep in your own goals as much as I do?
You have this idea for a project or something you want to accomplish, but then you say to yourself, “But what would be really cool is if…” [insert really cool, but also really time-consuming idea here].
Well, I’ve been kinda stuck there with my website for a while. I knew I needed to update some pages here and there, but then the plethora of “cool ideas” have held me back from actually getting anything done.
Thankfully, I had a big chunk of time this weekend and gave myself the goal of launching a new homepage no matter what. This helped me cut away all of the fluff and reduce the scope of this project back into the realm of reasonable. And frankly, I’m pretty happy with the result. Not perfect, but pretty dang cool.
What’s even better, is the renewed mind space for other things. I often discount the mental burden of my ever-creeping to-do list, and this is one task that I’m glad to have ✅done✅ rather than perfect.

Circle Day is coming up fast and I’m really excited to be sharing the stage with Christy Price, Kelsey Gilbert-Kreiling, and Justin Mabee. We’ll be doing a panel on Memberships within Squarespace, and it’ll be a blast.
