Auto-Scroll for New List Sections & Redesigning My Website

JULY 15, 2021

Hey friend,

I’ve been working hard these last few weeks on a few projects I’m really excited about. One of them that I can begin to share with you now is a refresh of my website. My home page is the first page I’ve released.

Part of me wanted to wait until I could rebuild my entire website before launching it. But alas, I’m still a small business and rebuilding my website is exciting, but not directly revenue producing. So forgive the ongoing website construction over the next few months.

The overarching purpose of the redesign is to improve the “Designer Experience” on my blog articles and plugin installation experience. I want to make coding for Squarespace design approachable and fun. So I’m focusing on more compelling visuals, clearer instructions, and more focussed content .

My biggest takeaway so far is how powerful Squarespace can be “under the hood”. The “Featured Plugins” and “Latest” sections of my home page are just a couple examples of what you can do with advanced summary blocks. I’m looking forward to sharing more as I learn more.

Thanks for being part of my virtual community, I’m glad you’re here. Onwards and upwards!

Keep Building,
Will

I’m sure at some point Squarespace will come out with an auto-slide function for its new list sections, but until then, this code should do. This code will work for “Banner” or “Carousel” Design styles.

First 1000 is a monthly newsletter about how founders of successful companies got their first 1000 customers. I’ve always loved case studies, and the stories from this newsletter that I’ve read so far are great.

The advice you need for how to grow a young business is often completely different from the advice you need to grow an established business. Make sure you’re receiving the right advice for you and your business.
