Get better at building websites
Hey friend,
Phew! I was planning on sending out a newsletter last week, but, as some of you noticed, I had a bit of a hiccup with my hosting provider on Friday the 19th that sent me into a panic. After receiving a flood of support tickets all at once from a lot of you, I quickly realized that the problem wasn’t on your end, it was on mine. So I spent a good bit of last week reworking my infrastructure to make sure everything stays up. I’ve written an article about this virtual faux pas if you want learn more about what happened and how I’m fixing it going forward.
On to the updates though! Here is a round-up of new plugins I’ve released, some new tutorials, and some other cool stuff from around the web.

Page Sidebar Nav in Squarespace 7.1 - my newest creation! A sidebar nav like we had in SS 7.0, but for 7.1. Fully customizable by which sections you want to show in the nav, section names, and 4 different styles to choose from. Check out the demo.

Blob Maker - This fun little app lets you create those blob shapes that you see in some fun / quirky designs these days.
Mesh Gradient Images - Another fun tool that allows you to create gradient images. It’s not code, so they’re not ideal for adding as a background (use CSS gradients instead), but it’s still neat.
Amazing Web Designs
These are kinda cruel to share, because it would require a lot of custom code to get something like this working in Squarespace, but you can often find one or two elements that you might want to copy for your website.

Slider 3.0 Now Available - I’ve now made my Slider 3.0 fully available with a Free & Pro Version (still just $10). Many of you have updated already and seem to really like all the new features, so thanks for your feedback. This update is free for anyone who has already purchased the slider.
Switching The Day & Month Fields on Squarespace Forms - In this tutorial, I go over how to switch the day and month fields on forms so that they’re visually switched AND the tab order is correct. I’ll be honest though, this tutorial ended up being more complex than I thought it would be, so the CSS-only option might still be the best option for a lot of you.
